I wrote the lyrics to Foggy Highway one evening on a very foggy drive home from Charlottetown after a long day of work-related meetings. I was marveling how if was hard to see where I was going and even what was behind me was obscured. Kind of like life. We don't know what's coming. And our recollections of the past fade and change with time. I pulled over and wrote most of the lyrics and melody in about 20 minutes.
When I sent the lyrics and melody to Mike he immediately got the groove I was going for and set to work creating the great guitar arrangement that drives the song. Matt Gallant's drums really enhance the groove, and Darrel Cameron's backing vocals provide such a great support to the melody. This is probably the most challenging song on the album for me vocally because of the range it covers. But wow, I just love singing this one! Enjoy - and don;t forget to break a few rules every now and then. Karen
